Background
The "Speak It Up!" Erasmus+ project was developed in response to a growing need for innovative and inclusive tools that empower youth to develop public speaking skills and engage actively in democratic life. Recognizing that public speaking is a critical skill for personal and professional growth, as well as a tool for fostering active citizenship, this project aims to create resources that address these challenges.

The Speak it Up! Educational Framework functioned as the foundation for the creation of the eHandbook.
The information contained in the Curriculum was based on desk and field research, which led to the identification of the learning outcomes for young people’s development in public speaking skills for youth participation in democratic life in the countries of all project partners: Sweden, Poland, Greece, Cyprus, Italy, Bulgaria, and Lithuania.
The research-based Curriculum developed for youth trainers/educators and youth workers provided an educational program to improve young people’s public speaking skills in relation to their participation in democratic processes.
The e-Handbook contains the training content and material on improving young people’s public speaking skills towards youth participation in democratic life.
More specifically, the e-Handbook contains:
- DA description of the proposed teaching and training methodologies
- An explanation and elaboration of the training content and teaching material/activities
- Guidelines for youth trainers/educators and youth workers, along with test criteria and assessment
- Recognition and validation of the learning outcomes
The e-Handbook provided youth trainers/educators and youth workers with tailor-made training material on public speaking skills development for participation in the democratic processes.
The Speak it Up! app is an interactive public speaking tool and function as a complementary learning tool towards improving young people’s public speaking skills in democratic life.
It simplified speechwriting and presentation preparation while aiming to provide in-depth support for discourse and speechwriting with step-by-step prompts.
The Speak it Up! app also aims at boosting young people’s confidence in getting in front of a big audience and delivering successful and easy-to-follow speeches.
It is available in the following languages: English, Swedish, Polish, Greek, Italian, Bulgarian and Lituanian.
