On October 29, 2024, Dracon Rules Design Studio hosted the impactful iEUElect multiplier event in the heart of Karditsa, Greece, at the welcoming Hotel Kierion. This dynamic gathering brought together over 30 participants, including youth workers, educators, municipal representatives, and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, particularly rural communities. The evening was a celebration of achievements and a platform for thought-provoking conversations about democracy, voting, and active citizenship.
Empowering Communities through the iEUElect Project
The event began with an introduction to the iEUElect project, its objectives, and the meaningful work accomplished so far. The project’s mission of empowering young people to actively engage in democratic processes resonated with the audience. The team shared highlights from local activities and awareness campaigns designed to inspire voter participation and cultivate a stronger European identity among youth.
Interactive Learning with the Board Game
The centerpiece of the evening was the presentation of the innovative board game developed as part of the iEUElect project. Designed to educate while entertaining, the game immerses players in the intricacies of European elections and democratic decision-making. Participants enthusiastically tested the game, which sparked engaging debates and discussions. Its interactive approach captivated the audience, many of whom recognized its potential as a transformative educational tool for schools, youth organizations, and community centers.
Collaborative Discussions and Future Potential
A key component of the event was brainstorming how the project outcomes could address the specific needs of Greek youth. From integrating the board game into school curricula to hosting workshops that blend gaming with civic education, attendees offered actionable suggestions. The event fostered interest in further collaborations to expand the reach and impact of the project’s methodologies and tools.
